Today we will take it from our previous engagement about what it means to accept our backgrounds and what we can do to remain grounded on what we believe our destination is.
We can again draw inspiration from Paul and Silas when faced with difficult circumstances; we don’t just sit and hope for miracle without taking action. ACTS 16:25-27 ” ABOUT MIDNIGHT PAUL AND SILAS WERE PRAYING AND SINGING HYMNS TO GOD, AND THE OTHER PRISONERS WERE LISTENING TO THEM. SUDDENLY THERE WAS SUCH A VIOLENT EARTHQUAKE THAT THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE PRISON WERE SHAKEN. AT ONCE ALL THE PRISON DOORS FLEW OPEN”. See Paul and Silas didn’t just sit down; they praise God even in time of distress, we must also do the same in order to change our situation, our miracles lies in praise and worship. You have it in you to break the chains that are holding you back, it is all in your faith and action, do something about it and believe that God will come through for you and you shall win and change your background.
We have to understand that the only way to know that we are in His purpose is through the word of God. JOHN 16:33 I HAVE TOLD YOU THESE THINGS, SO THAT IN ME YOU WILL HAVE PEACE, IN THE WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE. BUT TAKE HEART I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD”(NIV). We can overcome our background through remaining united with Christ and He shall give us the Holy Spirit to give us guidance to know what is wrong and what is right. We will be able to make decisions that will best suit us rather than the ones influenced by friends. Yes sometimes pressure we will receive might look so heavy but standing on the above scripture will help us to remember that we will be tested by the world but because we are in Christ and He is in us, just like Him we will overcome the world. Because when we are in Christ we have power who is Christ to overcome each and every battle that we encounter.
Yes people will flesh material things towards us but because we are believers of Christ we have weapons to fight every temptation which we encounter along the way and to know that when WE ARE IN CHRIST AND NOTHING WILL DEFEAT US. Hebrew 13:5 KEEP YOUR LIVES FREE FROM THE LOVE OF MONEY AND BE CONTENT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE, BECAUSE HE SAID, NEVER WILL I LEAVE YOU; NEVER WILL I FORSAKE YOU”(NIV). Looking at this scripture we can stay away from the material things and still survive because He who is in us is richer than every other material thing. A rich man without Christ is the poorest man ever because not any richness can be compared to how rich Christ is. We must never allow the love of any material things ruin our lives or push us away from God leading us into doing things that will end up ruining our lives and end up not reaching our greatness. Boys don’t go and sell drugs so that you will be able to buy an apple phone, ladies don’t sell your bodies in order to afford Brazilian hair.
