Feeling emotionally messy? Time to detox your Emotional life…
This article is inspired by the scripture in 1 Corinthians 7 Verse 1. It is very important that we purify ourselves from toxic things and people that cause us negative and unhealthy emotions in order for us to be aligned and strive for holiness in reverence to God.
We need to continually and persistently guard what we let into our lives because it impacts how we behave and respond to live. For example if you fill yourself with bad attitudes like bitterness of comparing yourself to others, your overall outlook on life with be negative. Because instead of you embracing the beautiful and amazing creation that you are, you are focused on what you are not and your behaviors and habits have shaped you into a BITTER, JEALOUS & ANGRY character.
Don’t get lost in unhealthy emotions that they begin to become part of who you are.
The first step to living an emotionally health life is through self-inspection. Look into yourself to discover what it may be that is toxic and manifesting to negative traits in your life. You need to hit that reset button. You need to DETOX YOUR EMOTIONS…
I’m here to share God’s tools to help us detox/cleanse our emotional lives.
Stop reacting to everything that is said or presented to you
There is so much that life brings to us and sometimes we are overwhelmed with everything. With everything happening in our lives we are bound to have doubt, fear, negative thoughts, sin etc. and it is humanly possible to easily allow all these things to infiltrate us. This is when we need to be cautious with what we allow to dominate our emotions. This is when we need to decide or rather choose what we are going to respond to. The art of discipline is very important because it drives us to what we ought to do. Refuse to allow an opinion of someone else about you get you angry. It’s got nothing to do with you but them. If for example they think you are too quiet, that’s ok. Yes you are too quiet and that’s your character. There’s no reason for you to feel bad or embarrassed about how God created you. Embrace the amazing creature that you are in Christ Jesus, because God wanted you to be that way and therefore embrace it and want it for yourself. Do not fear what people will say about you, you should only fear God and that on its own will give you plenty of Wisdom.
Do not fear people or anything for that matter
I am here to tell you that no matter how high of positions people may be in and you are probably position-less in the world measures, regardless of positions and titles DO NOT FEAR PEOPLE!!! Your trust should be completely on God and stay reminded that GOD IS WITH YOU. You need to be bold because God did not give you the spirit of fear but of power and a sound mind.
Be yourself, don’t compare
We are all made in the image of God. Wonderfully and fearfully so. Why envy to be someone else when God took his precious time to create you the way you are. God has a reason for everything and He certainly has a reason why he created you the way you are. He knows why you have a certain character. God’s plans are higher than ours, His ways and thoughts are way above what we can think or even imagine.
Cut out meaningless relationships
It’s very important to associate ourselves with people who are visionaries and who want the same things we want in life. You must want a crowd who gather with the same intentions and goals. You must gather with people who want God, for when many are gathered in the Lord’s name, God will be there. The first relationship we need to strive for is God’s relationship. To be in constant communion with Him. To seek His Kingdom first.
